Sharing the experience in the Communications Industry

As VON progresses, I have to admit. I am amazed how hard it is for the monks to define the elephant.

The market has definitely matured.

Some Companies have retrofitted their solutions into VoIP, but most are on their second / third generation of IP solutions.

Alternatively some startup strategies are also here, but its becoming harder to find the VoIP in the Software AaA Service [SAAS] and Communication As A Service [CAAS] models.

But the real story is where is the bypass today....

Henry Sinnreich and some other friends are bypassing all my configuration issues with the web and Flash.

BOSS bypassed.

Talking to the Video conferencing world, the move is to federation.

PSTN bypassed.

But the biggest bypass is the use cases of the cellphone. Jeff's last two talks about social networks is a plain talk discussion about the way people are no longer expecting a single reliable source of phone calls. In fact its not about calls, its about posts. So the result is

Calls bypassed.

And the carriers are matching this with wise investments in Ethernet and Servers for caching. Making MB the future defacto unit of measure.

DSn bypassed.
