Virgo bought the Assets

The last two months I have been at trade shows that are around the VON community. I have yet to hear from anyone from Virgo, but they have been walking the floor talking about VON. The interesting thing is, I am not sure that was the community that VON represented. So we will see what their version of VON looks like. VON was many things to many people. My goal now is to support the VON Coalition as it navigates the regulatory environment. Continue

Okay Folks its time to talk amongst the community.

Please do not post this is or commentary about this to outside message boards. Some Facts At the end of March, I was no longer a pulvermedia employee. Currently no one has asked me to participate in any conference associated with VON. I have no access to the assets associated with pulvermedia or pulver.com and have never been in receipt of profits that allows me to be benevolent to those creditors and debtors that would like compensation. The only people who can do that are at http://www.tic… Continue

VON.x Bypassed

As VON progresses, I have to admit. I am amazed how hard it is for the monks to define the elephant. The market has definitely matured. Some Companies have retrofitted their solutions into VoIP, but most are on their second / third generation of IP solutions. Alternatively some startup strategies are also here, but its becoming harder to find the VoIP in the Software AaA Service [SAAS] and Communication As A Service [CAAS] models. But the real story is where is the bypass today.... Henry Si… Continue

New Market Peering

Sitting here waiting for the plane, I want to thank you all for coming to our first New Market Peering summit. As a summit it will be small but intense. My intention is to be in every session and moderate with a light touch. I expect the group to be interactive and I expect you to be engaged. I will be posting the slides in a discussion group called New Market Peering on http: //www.pulvermediacommunity.net. I want you to know I am looking forward to this event. This is a market that has some… Continue

Brogan Brings the Video on the Net Crowd and I start sucking in my gut.

Go Chris Go,

Great job inviting the Video on the Net types here. Welcome. I would like this site to work for all of us, so feel free to redecorate. You already have changed the ratio of women to men, which can only help said the reader of Aristophanes' Lysistrata http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysistrata

Seriously,

I do have a question to consider. 5 years from now what will be the distinction between user generated content and produced content?

Foreword - Carl’s Corner keeps growing smaller.

Thank you to the few of you that started reading my blog. I believe I am up to seven, but one of my relatives is ill, and may not be looking all the time ;<). Seriously, I am still posting at http: //carlscorner.pulver.com . Sorry about the bad link posted in the last issue. I am also posting to http: //pulcom.ning.com , but as you will read I think I am looking for a new social network strategy.

Carl's Corner

The Foreword.

I am sending this email blast because I have the least read blog in creation. It may be deserved because I am not a blogger by nature, but in the hopes of increasing my readerships to tens. I am sending out this email to friends with the hopes that each of these topics will generate some dialogue

Ning Support the Post Help of Asynchronous Communication

On the good news side. The groups seems to be up in operation again.

On the bad news side. "Mike" at Ning support has been about as communicative as a deaf mute in confession.

The strict use of only E-mail for help desk functions is too spartan for me.

I have no idea how the problem happened. If I was unique? or this was a system problem? What the possibility of this happening again, etc.

So what is your expectation of help from hosted free services?

We are Experiencing Technical Difficulties

If you recall I was excited at the use of NING for storing the slides. I put it into an FMC group and give the 5GB storage I felt save that it would hold all the slides.

The good news is it does, the bad news, you can't tell it from here.

Down below my blog on the forum section the top discussion includes a link to the slides based on the persons name.

Thank G-d I created that link, because the group menu tab and other ways to connect to the groups seems to be very scr… Continue

On to Rome for the Battle of the Apps

I changed the background because some of us are getting ready to travel to VON Europe Autumn (a,k.a VON Italy). Our partners at wireless.it (I love that name) have built a great show. Our little piece is a look at how IMS fits into the overall world of application development.

Right now alot of people are down on IMS. I am not sure that its a valid complaint. The fact that so many are claiming the are IMS compliance so early and confusing the issue is to be expected. (Maybe we should f

Its never like you expect. Google vs. Ning

Some ironies in putting the slides up for the FMC in the two different groups has left me laughing.

Google is Storage restrictive. From the same company that gave a free GB mailbox comes two restrictions on storage. The file can only be 10M, so some graphically intense presentations I had to break up into 2 or 3 parts.

NING is Navigation impaired. So I can all the slides uploaded on to Ning, and I have the former session content visiablly up there including pictures, bios, abst… Continue

Fall VON Content is King!

I want Fall VON to rock your world.

I dont want you thinking that VON is VON anymore.

I am looking to have the show mean business to you.

The show has a predominance of wireless in it this year as well as the IPTV types.

But the show is more than any one topic.

Look at the conference below, I cant believe the topics wont interest you.
