EVDO Soft Launch By WorldCall

WorldCall has started EVDO (Evolution-Data Optimized) service from Karachi. The solution uses a USB modem (or a wireless router - if thats what you prefer) and enables wireless broadband services for laptops. This is being offered at very competitive rates by WordCall.

Motorola has been selected to Deploy WiMAX network in Pakistan

Mobilink, an Orascom Telecom Company, has selected Motorola to deploy a WiMAX 802.16e-2005 access network in Pakistan. According to the agreement, Motorola will design, plan, deploy, and optimize a WiMAX network for Mobilink. Motorola will also enable quicker adoption of the operator’s WiMAX offering by providing integration and support services as well as indoor and outdoor CPE (customer premises equipment).
